First, the themes of the locked door, and crossing over the threshold found in this story. The second reason is due to the Biblical allusions Faulkner so skillfully inserted into his writing.<\/p>\n<p>This research paper I wrote showcases William Faulkner&#8217;s short story, &#8220;Shall Not Perish&#8221;. I found the story desperately inspiring.
